What is the Project?

This project provides accessible beginner tutorials for the animation program Moho Debut 13.5.

Audience: Beginner animators who want to learn Moho Debut 13.5

Tools Used: Camtasia, Adobe CC, Moho Pro/Debut, YouTube

So what is Moho?

Moho, better known as Moho Pro 13 and Moho Debut 13, is an animation program that focuses on 2.5D animation. Moho provides professional, powerful, and easy-to-use animation and rigging tools.

This program is been used in multiple animated films such as Song of the Sea and The Bread Winner!

The Problem and the Solution

While Moho is an excellent program for 2.5D animation, it lacks free beginner-friendly tutorials, especially for Moho Debut.

With this in mind, beginners do not have the necessary recourses to learn the program.

As a result, this YouTube channel will provide participants with the necessary resources to learn the program to get started on their animation journey.

What Does the Youtube Channel Teach?

Moho can be broken up into three main categories; drawing, rigging, and animation.

Drawing

Participants are taught how to set up their projects, create vectorized shapes, how to use shape order, and how to break up their drawings into layers for animation.

Rigging

Rigging is the most complicated part of moho to learn. In this section, participants are taught what are bones in Moho, bone types, bone parenting, and much more.

Animation

Finally, participants will learn how to use keyframes and the timeline to create their animations.

Behind the scenes

For this project, I developed a persona character to represent myself in my videos. This character was drawn, rigged, and animated in Moho Pro 13.

Reflection

This project was a great experience both as an instructional designer and as an animator.

Animation: The addition of my persona truly add personality to the channel. This personal touch makes the content more engaging and enjoyable to the participants. On top of this, the character rig also acts as a great example of what Moho can create as well as my skills as an animation.

Instructional design: The course development of this project pushed me to develop my skills as an instructional designer. I feel more confident in my ability to develop solutions as well as my ability to develop eLearning content.
